To protect critical billing information, the meter records and logs the following with a time stamp:
Simultaneous Voltage and Current Waveform Recorder
EIG meters provide the pre-fault and post-fault event recording / Waveform records are programmable to the desired sampling rate.
The meter’s advanced DSP design allows Power Quality triggers to be based on a 1 cycle updated RMS. The meter stores waveform data in a first-in/first-out circular buffer to insure data is always recording. The unit records up to 512 or 1024 or up to 50 MHz samples per cycle for a voltage sag or swell or a current fault event depending up on various models.
Waveforms at a sampling rate of up to 1024 samples/cycle on multiple power quality events, including surges, sags, and transients. 16-bit A/D conversion provides precise waveform resolution. Both voltage and current recording offer pre- and post-event analysis. Fault recording offers eight times full-scale capture capability. Waveform recording for wideband frequencies is also supported. You can program both hardware and software triggers to record a waveform. View waveforms through Communicator PQA ® software, the meter’s web browser, or the EnergyPQA.com® cloud-based energy management system. You can also download the waveforms to third party software for analysis. Analyze the waveforms to determine the source of power quality anomalies and then take steps to remedy the situation.
Power quality Measurement becomes basic necessity with many sectors are coming with various power electronics, solar power, and wind power , furnaces, SMS etc. Monitoring Power quality continuously is the only way to identify as well as understanding source of problems for rectification.
some inputs which can be further investigated with international standards.
OPTION : II
Measure power quality as per International standards IEC 61000-4-30 Class A Edition 3. Various measurements can be done as per standards: This is required as per CEA guideline in India.
Maximum Sampling Speed available: 1024 samples / cycle per voltage and current independently & 50 MHz based on specific requirement.
Implementation of various methodologies to improvise the system for power quality improvement. This is possible only when there are sufficient information regarding source and type of power quality problems.

HIGH-END POWER QUALITY METER WITH BUILT-IN SYNCHROPHASORS : Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) Improve Power System Stability
A phasor measurement unit (PMU) is a device used to estimate the magnitude and phase angle of an electrical phasor quantity (such as voltage or current) in the electricity grid using a common time source for synchronization.
Energy Management Software is a Next Generation Cloud-based Energy Management Solution, which works to offer a full energy management solution across an Enterprise, providing you with detailed usage comparisons and deep insights into power quality. It also utilizes machine learning to generate usage predictions, which help you to manage resources. The ability to view waveforms captured on voltage/current surges and sags and the limit/alarm feature let you be proactive in addressing issues with power quality before they result in damaged equipment or lost revenue.
The EnergyPQA.com® system is supported by the Communicator PQA® application and its Meter Manager PQA® automation component, which let you discover and group meters, configure meter settings, set up trending logs and automatic log retrieval, view real time readings, set system security, register meters with the Energy PQA.com® system, and perform related meter activities. When you sign up for the EnergyPQA.com® system, you get access to all of EIG’s metering and billing applications.
Energy Management System helps in several ways:
